What do you call a scenic 5K/10K and Kid’s 1K along the Snohomish River with DJs every mile that’s preceded by a street fair, a barbecue, an ice cream eating contest, a carnival and a rockin’ night concert? KLA HA YA BEATS! Welcome to the newest Beats Run of 2016 and celebrate summer with some old fashion Snohomish Kla Ha Ya Days festival fun before the run. The native word “Kla Ha Ya” means “Welcome” and for over 100 years, families have gathered in Historic Downtown Snohomish to welcome summer and welcome visitors. Now it’s our turn to crank up the Beats and welcome YOU to run the 2016 Kla Ha Ya Beats Run. Game on, Snohomish!

Kla Ha Ya Event Details

Course: We are still finalizing the details for the 2016 Kla Ha Ya Days 5K and 10K.  We can say the start and finish will be at the intersection of First St. and Union St. in Downtown Snohomish.  We will have final details for the course by Friday, June 17.

Parking: There will be plenty of Street Parking Available around the start of the event.  Please plan to arrive early to get the best spot available.

Day Of Race Schedule:

5:30 pm – Registration and packet pickup opens

6:00 pm – Pre-Race Pump Up Concert Begins

6:05 pm – Kid’s 1 Mile Run

6:20 pm – Mandatory Pre-Race Announcements

6:30 pm – All Runners Start

7:30 pm – Overall Awards at Main Stage

7:40 pm to 9:30 pm – Main Stage Headliner Concert

9:00 pm – Course Closed

Packet Pickup: We will have packet pickup available on Friday, July 15th at a site and time TBD.  Most likely it will be a location close to Downtown Snohomish and will be between 12 pm and 7 pm.  Packet pickup will be available the day of the event starting at 5:30 pm.

Registration: Registration will be available online through Wednesday, July 13th along with at packet pickup and the day of the race.  We will not allow discount codes to be used for in-person registrations.

Strollers and Dogs:  Strollers will be allowed but must start in the back of the race.  Dogs will not be allowed.

Refund Policy:  We will not allow any refunds for registrations.  Participants who are unable to run and notify us before 7 days prior to the event will get a 50% off discount for any other Beats Running Group Events.  We will not mail any race shirts or finishers medals for those who do not show or pickup their packets.

Transfer Policy: Participants will be able to transfer their registration from the 10K to the 5K at no charge but will not be refunded the difference in the price.  Participants can transfer from the 5K to the 10K for a $10 transfer fee.

Transfer to Another Participant: Transfer of bibs and registrations from one person to another will not be allowed.

Bandits or Use of Another’s Bib: If you Bandit (run without a bib or registration) or use someone elses bib without notifying The Beats Running Group you will be reported to the USATF and may not be allowed to run another USATF Sanctioned Event.  We highly discourage this due to safety concerns.

Cutoff Times: Participants will have 2 hours to complete the 5K or 10K Course.  That means you will need to average a 20 minute per mile pace to complete the course within the allowed timeframe.

Awards: We will only be giving awards for the 5K and 10K Overall Male and Female Top 3 Finishers.  Age group placement will be shown in the results but we will not have awards for them.

 

Beats Summer half and 10K

The 2016 Beats half marathon and 10k will be on Sunday, August 21st and will start and finish at the Lake Tye Park in Monroe, WA. This race will be on closed roads and running paths. We will feature a DJ Booth at each mile, 6 different aid stations and a post race concert and festival complete with a Redhook Beer Garden, Food and more sure to wow all our participants and their guests. All participants will get a race shirt, medal, chip timing and personalized race number bib.

Summer Beats Details and FAQ

Course: The new course is going to be a gorgeous course with 2 loops of a 6.55 mile route.  Participants will start at Lake Tye Park and run South along Fryelands Drive to Old Snohomish Monroe Rd.  They will then do a 1.5 mile out and back along one of the most scenic roads in Washington and then continue back to Lake Tye Park at which time will complete a full loop of Lake Tye.  The route is gorgeous, super flat and will be void of bicyclists and automobiles and will continue to feature a great deal of music stations, aid stations and great spots for spectators to cheer you on.
